Creative Terms
Last updated 3 Oct 2026
These Creative Terms apply to every Member who offers creative or other services on Collab — including writers, editors, artists, illustrators, designers, developers, audio, video and 3D creators advertising their services ("Providers"). They form part of, and should be read with, the general Terms of Use.
1. You are an independent agent
- You act entirely on your own behalf as an independent agent / independent contractor. You do not work for, and are not employed, engaged, represented or supervised by, Collab.
- Nothing on the Site creates an employment, worker, partnership, joint-venture or agency relationship between you and us.
- You may not describe yourself as working for, endorsed by or acting on behalf of Collab.
- You decide which work to accept, your prices, your schedule and how you carry out the work.
2. Your own business responsibilities
You are solely responsible for:
- your own contracts with clients, including scope, deadlines, revisions, cancellation, refunds and usage rights;
- providing your own payment system — the Site does not take or process payments, hold deposits or offer escrow;
- your own invoices, records, tax (including Income Tax, National Insurance and VAT where applicable) and any business registrations;
- any insurance you need;
- complying with all laws that apply to your work.
3. Listings, prices and portfolio
- Services, prices and commission offers you list must be accurate and kept up to date. Prices are set by you and are an invitation to discuss, not an offer by us.
- Portfolio images and work samples must be your own work, or work you have the right to show. Clearly credit collaborations and do not upload AI-generated work as hand-made.
- You are limited to the number of portfolio images shown in your account settings. Images are converted to WebP and may be watermarked if you turn watermarking on.
4. Working with clients
- Agree the brief, price, payment terms, deadlines, number of revisions and usage/ownership rights in writing (the Site's job proposal tool and inbox can help keep a record) before you start.
- Deliver what you agreed, or communicate promptly if you can't.
- Disputes with a client must be resolved directly with that client. Collab is not a party to your agreement and will not mediate, pay, refund or chase payment.
5. Reviews
After a Job is marked complete, both sides may leave a signed 1–10 star review. Do not pressure clients over reviews or offer incentives for them.
6. Suspension
We may hide listings or suspend your account if we receive credible complaints of fraud, non-delivery, plagiarism or abuse, or if you breach these Terms.
